What is Active Ink?
We've all done it -- sometimes many times a day! We've all gone into a bank, or the DMV, or a doctor's office and been
handed a paper form on a clipboard which we are asked to fill out with pen by hand. What happens when we turn that
form in? A staffer must decipher our completed form and re-input the handwritten information into her computer so that we
can be tracked, serviced and billed.
All too often, today's digital accounts still begin with this seemingly-inescapable analog first step --
the paper form -- an incredibly inefficient, error-prone and costly way to gather information.
The paper form creates redundant work for field personnel, office staff, and managers alike, but it doesn't have to be this way.
